Getting around Florence: walking
Walking is perhaps the best way for getting around Florence. Getting around the centre walking, even if is the ancient quarters are quite large, extending on a surface of almost 4 km, is easily and nice. Getting around walking will let you appreciate all the monuments of Florence: Piazza Duomo, Piazza Signoria until the Lungarno, the oldest bridge in Florence and the districts of Santo Spirito, San Niccolò and San Frediano. Walking you can enjoy the wonderful boutiques, bars and restaurants. You can sit down and rest admiring the Renaissance palaces. Spending your holiday in Florence is synonym of Art, and a quiet walk is undoubtedly the best way to appreciate it.
Getting around Florence: by bike
If you want to move quickly and in an ecological way through the city, there is nothing better than renting a bicycle. You can use the free service offered by the City of Florence “Thousand and One Bike” that allows you to use free bicycles in Florence, or, as well, you can rent a bike or a Segway. Included in the price, you will find locks, helmets and a map of the city: everything you need for getting around in Florence. Bicycle lanes in Florence runs through all the city.
Getting around Florence: by bus
Another solution for getting around in Florence, is the ATAF: the city bus service. The lines are distributed throughout the city and serve also neighbouring areas.Recently, to move even faster, have been recently open a new Tramway track. It will be followed by two new other lines. Moreover, you have an electric bus service to serve the older parts of the city-centre. Getting around in Florence, is day by day easier.

If you need to quickly reach the station, the airport, your hotel or any other part of the city, just call a TAXI. Getting around Florence: by car
Getting around in Florence by car, will give you the possibility, to enjoy the others quarters of the city. So, you can easily reach Piazzale Michelangelo, along the majestic “Viale dei Colli”, or take a trip into the other parts of the city: le Cure, Campo di Marte, lo Statuto, Coverciano. Each one of these areas have markets, fine restaurants, popular bars and night clubs. Getting around in the centre, is not possible by car, but you can anyway leave your car in one of the many car parks available: Piazza della Libertà, Piazza Ghiberti, Piazza Alberti, the Fortezza da Basso and many more.
